About this product
How the Hydraulic Disc Harrow works
This hydraulic disc harrow is a three-point-lift implement for soil preparation. Its hydraulic design lets the discs bite deep, finely chopping weeds and mixing organic material into the ground. It is a heavy-duty machine, built to keep working through a full season.
It carries 20 to 28 carbon-steel discs of 61 cm (24 in), has a working width of 167.5 cm, weighs 685 kg and works with tractors of 60–85 HP. Cutting the soil again and again loosens and aerates it, clears weeds and residue, and adds organic nutrients, all of which support quicker crop growth.
Use this harrow after ploughing or on stubble to chop residue and level the field before sowing. At 685 kg and 167.5 cm wide it asks for a tractor of 60–85 HP. Keep the discs sharp and the bearings greased, and set the angle so the discs cut right through the residue rather than just pushing it along.
Before you buy the Hydraulic Disc Harrow
A disc harrow is the usual follow-up to ploughing and the best way to work crop residue into the topsoil. With the working width, disc size and weight shown in the specifications, check them against your tractor before ordering. Hydraulic adjustment is worth having if you change the aggressiveness of the cut often.
