About this product

How the Rotavator works

Good harvests start with good soil preparation, and the rotavator is built to make that quicker and easier. This heavy-duty rotary tiller breaks up hard ground, deals with stubborn crop residue and leaves a finely pulverised seedbed behind the tractor.

Whether you work large commercial fields or use a compact tractor, it saves manual effort. A finer, looser soil improves aeration and helps the ground hold moisture, both of which support yield. Four widths from 1,300 to 2,050 mm are offered for tractors from 30 to 100 HP.

A rotavator works best in soil that has already been loosened by a plough or cultivator, but it can also be used on its own in lighter ground. Because it pulverises the soil, avoid working very wet fields, and use the narrower models if your tractor is under 45 HP to keep the engine from labouring.

Before you buy the Rotavator

Rotavators suit growers who prepare many small beds as well as those who work large fields, as the width can be chosen to match the tractor. Think about the crop: vegetables like a fine bed, while some field crops do better with a rougher finish that resists capping after rain.

Questions

Questions about the Rotavator

It excels on medium soils for making a seedbed in one pass. Be careful in very wet clay, where repeated passes can smear the soil and leave a hard layer below the blades.
