About this product
How the Offset Disc Harrow works
An offset disc harrow works and turns the soil where a crop is about to be planted. Its discs, from 10 to 28 in a set, chop up weeds and crop leftovers as they go. The sets are offset so the discs cut across the line of travel and slice the same ground repeatedly.
The concave shape of each disc, together with its offset angle, helps it lift and loosen the soil it cuts. Two sizes are listed: 14 discs (1.40 m wide, 524 kg, for about 50 HP) and 16 discs (1.50 m wide, 549 kg, for 60–85 HP). The discs are 4.5 mm thick and run on four bearings.
The 14-disc harrow, 1.40 m wide, suits tractors of about 50 HP; the 16-disc version, 1.50 m wide, is for 60–85 HP. Either one will chop crop leftovers and level the ground after ploughing. Check the bearings and disc edges at the start of each season, because dull discs ride over trash instead of cutting it.
Before you buy the Offset Disc Harrow
Orchards, vineyards and fields with trees at the edge are where an offset harrow shines, because the frame can reach under branches while the tractor stays clear. Check the number of discs against your tractor power, and keep spare discs on the shelf for the busiest weeks.

Questions
Questions about the Offset Disc Harrow
The two disc gangs sit one behind the other and are offset to the side, so the harrow works a wide strip without leaving an unworked centre. That also lets it work close to trees and fences.
