About this product

How the Bed Shape Planter works

The bed shape planter combines several jobs in a single trip across the field: it forms the beds, levels the surface, sows the seed and applies fertiliser. In one pass it shapes two raised beds and three furrows, which saves both time and fuel.

A precision placer wheel puts each seed at the correct depth, which supports even germination and healthy growth. The machine is 1,520 mm long, 2,240 mm wide and 2,240 mm high, weighs 470 kg, and needs a tractor of 50 HP or more.

This planter needs a tractor of 50 HP or more and a field that has been levelled and cleared of large clods. Set the bed size before you start, check the seed rate on a short test run, and keep the placer wheel clean so each seed lands at the same depth.

Before you buy the Bed Shape Planter

This planter forms the bed and sows in one pass, which saves a trip and keeps moisture in the soil. Before ordering, check that its bed and furrow spacing match your irrigation layout and the wheel track of your tractor. It suits growers of vegetables and field crops that prefer raised beds.

Questions

Questions about the Bed Shape Planter

Raised beds drain faster, warm up earlier and give each row its own furrow for water or irrigation. Many growers see stronger early growth and fewer losses from waterlogging.
