How the Petrol Dewatering Pump works
Floods, excavations and farm ponds do not wait for a power point. A petrol dewatering pump brings its own engine, so it can be dropped anywhere there is a suction hose in the water and a discharge hose to carry it away.
The engine sits above a silver pump casing, all held in a black tubular steel frame that protects the engine and pump and doubles as a carrying handle. A suction port draws water in and a discharge port pushes it out at high volume, ready for threaded or clamped hose connections.
It is a common piece of kit for contractors, farms, quarries and rental fleets. It can drain a site after heavy rain, empty a pond, transfer water between reservoirs or feed a large irrigation line. Always use a strainer on the suction hose and keep the engine fuelled and serviced.
