About this product
How the Masonry Trowel works
A trowel is the tool most closely identified with the building trade. The skill is in the wrist, but the tool matters: balance, blade shape and edge decide how clean the mortar bed is and how tired the hand is at the end of the day.
The blade is polished steel in a classic pointed shape. The point lets you place mortar into tight corners and cut it neatly where it meets the brick, while the wide, flat body picks up and spreads a good amount. The edges are ground so that mortar slides off cleanly.
A wooden handle with a metal ferrule is fitted through a cranked shank so that your knuckles clear the wall. Wood is warm and comfortable and can be shaped to the hand by use. We supply trowels in different blade sizes, singly or in cartons.
Before you buy the Masonry Trowel
A trowel is a personal tool, so choose a size and weight that feels right in your hand. A pointed blade is versatile for bricklaying, pointing and small repairs. Clean it after every job and it will last for years.
