How the Square Hay Baler works
The square hay baler gathers hay, straw and forage and presses it into compact square bales. Square bales are easy to carry, stack, transport and store, which makes this baler a useful tool for livestock feeding and crop management.
A strong pickup, 150–180 cm wide, feeds a plunger working at 90–100 strokes a minute, giving consistent bale size and density and an output of 300–400 bales an hour. Bales measure 36 × 46 cm with an adjustable length of 30–132 cm and weigh 18–35 kg. The machine is PTO-driven for tractors from 35 to 75 HP and above, ties with a dual twine knotter, and weighs roughly 1,500–2,000 kg.
The square baler is a heavier machine, about 1,500–2,000 kg, so check that your tractor can handle it: it is listed for 35–75 HP and more. Keep the twine knotters clean and adjusted, and bale evenly raked windrows so the plunger fills the chamber the same way every stroke.
