About this product

How the Pointed Hoe works

In a vegetable plot most of the soil work is small and repeated: cut a weed, draw a line for seed, break a crust, level a bed. A hoe that handles all of these means a single tool on the shoulder instead of three.

The flat blade ends in a point, so it slips under a weed, cuts the roots and draws a neat V-shaped furrow for seed. Turn the head and the other side is a comb of five prongs, which rakes through loose soil to break lumps and pull out small roots.

The head is forged steel in green. The handle is long, straight wood that suits an upright working position, so the back is not bent over the bed all day. We can supply spare handles when one wears out.

Before you buy the Pointed Hoe

The pointed blade chops weeds and opens furrows, while the comb finishes the surface. It is a good, versatile tool for vegetable gardens, nurseries and small plots. Check the handle length, since a longer shaft helps you stand more upright.
