How the Solar Animal Repeller works
Birds, cats, foxes, rodents and wild boar can ruin a crop or a garden in a single night. Fences help, but a deterrent that reacts when an animal appears adds another layer of protection without poisons or traps.
A passive infrared sensor detects movement in front of the unit. When it triggers, the repeller flashes a bright LED and emits an ultrasonic sound that animals find unpleasant but people generally do not hear. The sound range can be set to suit the animals you want to deter.
The green housing has a solar panel on top that charges an internal battery by day, and a USB lead for charging in poor light. A ground stake holds it upright in beds, orchards and field edges. Results vary with the species and the layout, so use it together with good fencing.
