How the 10 HP Diesel Power Tiller works
For many farms, a power tiller is the first machine they own. It does the work of several people with spades and does it in a fraction of the time, preparing seedbeds for vegetables, maize, rice and orchard rows at an affordable running cost.
A single-cylinder diesel engine rated at 10 horsepower drives the rotary tines at the back and the wheels at the sides. The red tine blades slice and throw the soil as the machine moves forward, leaving a fine, level bed. Two handlebars let the operator steer, and levers control the clutch and speed.
