How the Automatic Pump Pressure Controller works
A pump with a manual switch runs when you tell it to, whether or not anyone needs water, which wastes electricity and wears the motor. A pressure controller makes the system automatic: open a tap and the pump starts; close it and the pump stops.
The controller combines a flow sensor and a pressure switch in one compact body, with a threaded inlet and outlet that fit in the pump delivery line. Indicator lights show power, pump running and fault states, and a connection for a pressure gauge lets you read the line pressure.
If the water source runs dry, the controller cuts the power and protects the pump from damage. It is widely used on garden pumps, small irrigation systems, boosters and domestic supplies, and often saves the cost of a pressure tank on small installations.
