About this product
How the Wheat Straw Chopper works
The wheat straw chopper is an essential implement for managing what is left in the field after harvest. It shreds, chops and spreads wheat straw and other crop residue, which improves soil health and prepares the land for the next cropping cycle.
It is built to cope with harsh field conditions and dry climates, with a robust PTO-driven mechanism running at 540 RPM, a heavy-duty balanced rotor and 48–60 flail or hammer blades of hardened steel. The working width is 6–7 feet (customisable), it fits a Category I and II three-point linkage on tractors of 50–90 HP, and road-safe transport wheels are included. It handles wheat, barley and rice straw.
Run it behind the combine while the straw is dry for the best chop and an even spread. Check the 48–60 blades for wear and the rotor for balance each season, and keep the PTO guard fitted. It suits tractors of 50–90 HP with a Category I or II three-point linkage.
Before you buy the Wheat Straw Chopper
Chopping straw as you harvest saves labour and helps the next crop establish. With 48 to 60 hardened blades, this machine is made for a wide working band, so check the width against your tractor. Spare blades are an easy way to keep it working at its best.
