About this product
How the Single Row Hand Push Seeder works
Sowing by hand gives uneven spacing and takes a lot of bending. A push seeder rolls on two wheels along the bed, so the seed is released at a regular interval and the rows come out straight enough to hoe between.
At the front a small opener cuts a shallow furrow, behind it the seed tray feeds a metering plate that drops seeds into the groove, and a trailing wheel or blade covers and firms the soil over them. A regulator lets you change the spacing for different crops.
The frame is green steel with two black wheels and a long handle with a rubber grip, light enough to push along a bed all day. It is popular with market gardeners, school gardens and small farmers who sow many short rows of vegetables.
Before you buy the Single Row Hand Push Seeder
For market gardeners and small growers, a push seeder makes straight, even rows far faster than sowing by hand. Choose seed plates that suit the crop, and sow into a prepared, level bed for the best results.

Questions about the Single Row Hand Push Seeder
It suits most vegetable seed. Very fine seed such as carrot is easier when mixed with a little dry sand.
